Sean East II of Missouri scored 18 points and DJ Horne of N.C. State added 15 points and five assists to lead Portsmouth Partnership over Roger Brown’s 86-80 Friday night in a Portsmouth Invitational Tournament semifinal.
Portsmouth Partnership overcame a 20-point deficit in the second quarter to advance to Saturday’s championship game against Jani-King. With the score tied at 60 through three quarters, Portsmouth Partnership opened the fourth quarter with an 8-0 run and held on down the stretch.
Horne hit two free throws with 14 seconds left to secure the win. Josh Oduro of Providence led Roger Brown’s with 21 points and eight rebounds.
